Bolsover
Bolsover is best known for the castle that dominates the skyline and can be seen from many miles away, but there is more to Bolsover. In recent times the shopping area has been treated to a makeover, there are supermarkets and a number of smaller shops that are well worth a browse. There are also a number of public houses.

When approaching Bolsover from Chesterfield you are faced with a hillside draped in new and relatively modern homes that are out of keeping with the castle. Do not be put of by them, because the centre consists of many stone buildings. Sadly there is a large volume of traffic passing through, but if you are an early riser you can enjoy the peace and calm that must have once existed here. |
