From the late 1800's into the late 1900's members of my family lived and worked around Milldale.
My Great Great Grandfather John Bennington was born in Wendling, Norfolk in 1829. He moved
to Milldale and the family grew and occupied a number of homes in the village.

The following gallery contains a selection of photographs from the 1900's. I have given their names
at the time the photos were taken.

I am distantly related to Sarah Gould, she placed a rope to help visitors tackle the steep climb to Reynards Cave.
My Great Great Aunt, Annie Bennington, traded her wares in Dovedale until, in her later years, she sat
beside the bridge in Milldale.
